This symposium will educate and inform the livestock and feed producer about the latest in bio-fuels technology with a focus on methane, ethanol and bio-diesel production and the challenges and opportunities it presents. The seminar will include a full-day speaker session as well as a half-day field trip to witness Highmark Renewables' Anaerobic Digestion System. 24 registrants will also be eligible to participate in "Make Your Own Biodiesel" workshop offered by Lakeland College.
Topics include:Dispelling the Myths (Food Vs. Fuel , Energy Balance, Agricultural Sustainability), Bio Diesel Product Consistency, Cellulose VS Starch Based Ethanol, Selling to the Grid, Federal/Provincial Incentives and Funding, the Bio Refinery Concept, and Turning Waste into Want.
